{"id":9219,"date":"2022-04-23T16:50:09","date_gmt":"2022-04-23T16:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asia-ibs.com\/v2\/china-will-strengthen-its-relationship-with-russia\/"},"modified":"2022-04-23T16:50:09","modified_gmt":"2022-04-23T16:50:09","slug":"china-will-strengthen-its-relationship-with-russia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asia-ibs.com\/en\/china-will-strengthen-its-relationship-with-russia\/","title":{"rendered":"China Will \u201cStrengthen\u201d Its Relationship with Russia"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Beijing.<\/em> The Chinese government stated that it will \u201cstrengthen\u201d its \u201cstrategic coordination\u201d with Russia regardless of \u201cthe international situation,\u201d with an eye toward \u201csafeguarding the common interests of both parties.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng met the day before yesterday with Russian Ambassador Andrey Denisov to \u201cexchange views on relations between Beijing and Moscow and the international and regional situation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chinese official told Denisov that \u201cno matter how the international situation changes,\u201d China, \u201cas always,\u201d will strengthen its \u201cstrategic coordination\u201d with Russia to \u201cpromote the building of a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the vice minister, under the leadership of China&#8217;s President Xi Jinping and Russia&#8217;s President Vladimir Putin, bilateral coordination \u201cin the new era is developing at a high level and cooperation in various fields is on the rise.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the first quarter of this year, bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached 38.2 billion dollars, an increase of almost 30 percent, according to the released statement, which highlights that these figures show the \u201cgreat resilience and endogenous strength of the cooperation\u201d between the two nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Denisov noted that Russia \u201calways regards\u201d the development of relations with Beijing \u201cas a priority of its diplomacy.\u201d He also said he was \u201cready\u201d to \u201cfollow the direction set by the two heads of state to further deepen comprehensive strategic coordination and practical cooperation, in order to continuously benefit the two peoples and uphold international fairness.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two officials exchanged views on international and regional issues of common interest, including Chinese-Russian cooperation within the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, as well as the situation in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Agreement with the Solomon Islands<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">China and the Solomon Islands signed a controversial security agreement viewed with suspicion by both neighboring Australia and the United States, which warned that the pact opens the door to a hypothetical deployment of Chinese troops in the archipelago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and his Solomon Islands counterpart, Jeremiah Manele, signed an agreement that, according to Beijing spokesman Wang Wenbin, will allow both parties to collaborate on matters such as \u201cmaintaining public order, the protection and safety of people and property, humanitarian assistance and response to natural disasters.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beijing.
